Has anybody ever had a power glide in their car? I am seriously tinking of putting a glide in my car but I have never had a car with one in it and dont know how its gonna act. How well do they cruise down the highway with a 4500 stall?

I know alot of guys that run them and love them but nobody runs them on the street. My guess is that it will run hot. Its like driving around in second and third all day. On the track you should be able to spray the crap out of that thing.

thats what i keep thinking, I am toying with the idea of stuffing a couple of turbos under the hood next winter and I know it will need a stronger tranny for sure then...

With a glide you can run a bigger gear for the track but for street use, unless your running a 3:42 or like 3:73 gear your gonna hate it on the street. the good thing about a glide is you only shift once so you can pull harder, and like Balaska said spray the hell out of it.

put a th400 in it if you aren't runing one now, to me a glide is a option when your in the single's which both your stangs are but i think a motor needs that 3rd gear on top end.

If you'r going to put twins on it then go glide or a linko. The glide you can get boost up and stay in it instead of shifting. The linko is just bad $$$, my dad's buddy has one in his 85 firebird and its just crazy, but it's a tube chassis car.

I had 4.77s in the car last year with the new motor and it was going thorough the traps at 7900rpms, now i put 4.11s in it and havent made a full pass to see where its going to be. I blew up the c4 at mason dixon couple of weeks ago.

I don't know much about the c4's but I know Patrick from prp that runs a 10sec white stang and like every other month he had problems with his c4. Have you thought of going to a th400, or just going to a glide. I think JJ runs a glide in his blazer and I'm almost sure he is runing a 5.13 or 4.88 gear, so with the glide you can go back to 4.77 gear and see where your rpms are going threw the trap, but i think with twins you would want a lower gear for more top end, but I'm not a turbo guy.

I am not a turbo guy either lol, but may be soon. I just want a tranny that is gonna hold up, the c4 I have is an artcarr "domination" c4 thats good to 1000hp. I think i may have been getting close to that range with the spray. I hit it with a 100hp shot on the dyno and it made 660rwhp and almost 800rwtq (bbf ftw!), but when i hit it with a 200 shot at the track the tranny went by by...

You gotta love it when the trans doesn't like horsepower, put a linko in it and throw a 300 shot and then all you have to think about is your bottom end staying together.

I agree with everything RED said. If you want to get serious with the turbos the glide will work great with a lower gear because the turbos will pull hard. Alot of guys are running the Th400 now and are having great success with them.

C6 by Broader Performance.....3 gears.....4 pinion planetaries.....deeper hubs.....rollerized thrusts.....better for the street.....and it's still a FORD.
