HELP............ The plan was to remove my valve covers for a little engine dress up. I wanted to get em ceramic coated blue. The passenger side came off some what easy with a little wiggle. The driver side is bein a $$$$$. I cant get it to clear the brake hydro boost thing-a-majig. Do i gotta remove this brake assembly? Any advice would help.

you have got to take it loose inside the car, there are 4 bolts that hold it on behind your brake pedal rod.

will try that tomorrow, tim. I was looking at them today and thought that might be the way to go but i had to walk away for today. I feel like im doing tons of work for this stupid little engine dress up. Is there anything else i can do worth wild while these covers are off?

The Lincoln has similar issues. Some have been able to simply loosen the booster without actually removing it. Try it before you take it all the way out - it may save you some work.

oh yes, thats what i meant just take it loose and hold it to the side some and that should be enough room.

Just for future referance, For the driver side valve cover removal, We had to removal all necessar hardware, Take clutch cable off of quadrant, remove brake booster bolts under dash (3) and (1) on firewall. PLUS jack the driver side up and loosen the bolts on the K member to let the Motor drop a lil. Its a lot of work just to take the valve covers off (its a very tight fit) but hopefully the end result will be worth it.

That is my kind of luck when I want to do something little. Starts out as a simple project, and always turns out in some big elaborate hoedown. I guess that's all part of the fun!
