Finally got to joining, I'm from Bridgeport, WV... heard about this site when I was up at the Rodeheaver's dyno day in August.
I headed to a few shows and cruisins in S/W PA over the last few months. I plan on attending more next year.
I have a 99 V6 that I have been working on over the last 10 years and I'm pretty much done with it at this point besides building the motor once it lets go.
It's still on the stock engine with a mild cam only and a custom turbo setup making 474/431 @ the wheels.
Next spring I plan on picking up a new 5.0 as a summer DD.

Here's a video after I finished the turbo setup, there are a few more on my youtube page.

Yea, I already have a Windstar intake. Just need to fab up all the brackets and whatnot for it. I'm not really in a hurry, I'll wait till I build the motor to put it on.
Motor is stock besides a 207/215 500 lift cam and bolt-ons. Turbo is a Turbonetics 62-1 .68 A/R Works pretty well for my setup and will support me once I build the motor. Stock fuel rails / lines will support ~550whp and that's as far as I'm going to go.
I don't run 13.5 lbs which made 474 all the time. I turn the boost down to around 11-12 which made 426 for normal driving around and it's reliable at that level with a good tune. One day the rods are going to let go when I crank it up to 474 to play around and that will just give me an excuse to finally build the motor.

I had the windstar on my v6 with a p&p lower and picked up about 30whp with a procharger at9psi..
the v6 is fun but you are pushing your limit!! I blew up my v8 when i had 520whp now making a little of 600 and planning on keeping it there Im sure you will keep upgrading till you hit high 5's to low 6's... to me in a lighter car that seems to be the happy medium with traction

Great running 3.8! There's still a number of ways to go bigger and badder with that platform from what I understand..
Anyone found the power limit of the production 3.8/4.2 blocks?

There are a handful of guys over 600. I believe one guy that was making around 650 tore his motor down and noticed he was experiencing some crank walk. 2 bolt mains are then the weak point. A guy was working on custom 4 bolt main caps but I don't know if that ever materialized.
I don't believe anyone has experienced motor failure due to it though. Most of those guys at those levels aren't putting alot of miles on their cars.
