I've thought about it but with an upcoming race this weekend and then the 1st of October and the 1st of November, I'm not sure I can afford another track weekend. But if I was to do an NMRA event this year, it would be Columbus or Bowling Green.

I'll be there all weekend, leaving here thursday morning/early afternoon.
FYI, IMO save your money on the true street b/s, you'll never be able to slow your car down properly to have a chance at the 14.0 (was won last year with like a 14.002 av.) just run bracket 3.

Yeah, pre-register. You didn't have to be a NMRA member to enter true street last I ran it. I dunno, I may get the bug, you never know. If I do, I'll be sure to hit you up. ;)

I actually slowed the Lincoln down when I ran in Joliet and clocked 14.0x all 3 runs and lost to some schlub running 13.7 to 14.3 but averaged like 2 thousandths under my average! :ohwell:

thats the way it always works (I've been going to NMRA events a long time). you spend the whole day dicking around with the cruise/etc & in the end the slower cars (generally 12 & up) winners are just a fluke.
I guess I'm old school or something, but if I make the effort to go to the track, its to win, period (not that I always do win, but you get the point).
the way that true street is set up, I see no real way of your input (ie. the driver) doing much to win a 12 sec or up class, so I run brackets & advise guys to do the same (especially at columbus because there's a seperate bracket race on sat, not just 1 day as it is at most NMRA events)

Yeah, in my lone experience, the True Street guys were treated like the proverbial red-headed step child. LOL

I've done the brackets before and admit it was a better overall experience. But maybe because I made it to the semi-finals, I may be biased.

yep, the semi's will do that to you..........LOL.
seriously though, if any of you guys make it down, stop by & say hello, we'll be pitted (as usual) on the first main road to the right of the gate, one or two rows down.

Well it's looking like I won't be making the trip, I forgot to get the Bird inspected!!! I've only had it out twice this year and forgot all about it. I called my usual guy and he's not in, I tried Tim but he's not in either. Oh well that's what I get for not paying more attention!

I was keepin an eye out for ya Jay, thats tuff about the inspection thou. I had a freakin blast gettin to race, do burnouts and run on the same track Pro NHRA racers did! I raced in the BracketIII class along with Caspergt.
I broke out while lifting too before the strip and ran too fast in first round eliminations! I was PO'd all day but had so much fun thats for sure. Got to catch up and see SCS's Bob Myers and his 2.3 crew and friends thier. Got to BS with lib88stang his dad and uncle also.
