View Full Version : What is the fastest car(s) you've ridden in?
and did you/do you own it?
I'd say the fastest car i've rode in was a stealth tt with upgraded turbos running 500-600hp around 10 years ago and I didn't own it.

I drove my buddy's 2008 Corvette Z06 with a supercharged 427. Absolutely amazing right there.

Man I miss my 93 Stealth TT. It was modded to hell and back (over 450 rwhp)but I dont think it could touch the Cobra. So far the Cobra is the fastest car I have ever been in and yes I own it.

Hardest pulling car I ever rode in was a local guy's turbo Buick Regal (not T-Type or GN- a newer model, four door Regal)...put down 550ish at the front wheels (though a big slushbox) and pulled like an absolute freight train when peak boost came on. It doesn't hook at all from a dig, but once it's moving, watch out.
Fastest car I've owned up to this point was my '95 Mustang GT that I sold back in '08. It ran 12.7s at 109/110.

When I took the ride in it, I think at the time it was going 11 teens. It's been 10 teens since. She and her husband, my buddy Steve, have a '70 AMX on a true 10.5" tire they've run in some heads up series, that's gone a best of 8.54 at 155mph.
This was a couple years ago at US13 in Delaware. Steve thought the track was getting worse as the heat of the day moves in, so he made a 3/4" suspension adjustment. 9 tenths of the a second into the run, Ann was on the parachute mount. Look, ma, no wheels!

Relating to the quick/fast thread, they're running mid 8s, and were qualifying the bottom half of the field. Someone is always faster. Vid of their '09 highlights:

I can't imagine how much it costs to go mid 8's at 3000# with an n/a 439ci deal....
More importantly....does Ann have a younger sister?

On 4 wheels, I'd have to say my Jeep is quickest vehicle I've been in. Before it, I'd have to it was a friend's AMG Mercedes (SL55 I think).
Overall, I'd say the quickest vehicle I've ever driven is a new VMAX I demoed. 186rwhp in a bike that only weighs 700lbs is just incredible.

Fastest? Hmmmm... Would ya believe a 1970 Buick Wildcat?! LOL :D I remember the speedo being as long as a yardstick and the needle disappearing off the far end towards the glovebox. The 455 V8 Wildcat had monster torque.
Actually, the fastest car I've driven had to be my former boss's Bentley (off the track).
I rode in a turbo 5.0L Lincoln Mark VII once that was stupid fast... It would broil the tires from a roll at 60 with an AOD. It was supposedly a 9 second car.

Fastest vehicle is my 08 gsx750r that i had in NY and probably fastest car i ever rode in is my heros mid 10sec untuned lil 302based fox, but depending on how andys trans am does at the track now since the upgrades that may be it also..

She pedaled it as it started to come down, to try to carry it out and lessen the hit when it landed. Smashed header tubes, blew out the shocks, and a ding on the oil pan.
I've often asked her is she had a long lost sister around Pittsburgh. :D
The fastest car I have ever owned would be my camaro now. But the fastest car I have ever rode in would be my dad's friend Doc james's 68 chevelle, it runs 8:47 in the 1/4 on motor. I didn't get a chance to go down the track in the car but I did ride through the pitts at Norwalk. He was supposed to put a bottle on it but I haven't talked to him in about two years.

Thanks for the love Clark!! :D
The fastest i've been in is definitely a vehicle I own, but don't know which one's faster.... Never got a chance to race them side-by-side... my TT Trans Am was wicked fast (698/706 rwhp/rwtq) but my R1 is well modded and mean as hell... try out 185+ rwhp in a bike only weighing 400lbs.... ;)
I think they'd have been a good race!
last i heard (which was over 6 months ago), the new owner trapped 109 in the 1/8th mile with the car, which is pretty darned fast.... in the meanwhile, i think he had a two-step planned, as well as replacing the Moser 12-bolt wiht a 9inch of some sort.... so i'd be interested in how she's running nowadays
