Just cleaning my car today and saw my new Chrome exhaust tips are pitting and rusting. Anyone have any tips on how to make them look new and keep them from rusting? Thank!

they are S/S, its very hard to keep it away this time of year.. the best thing is just keep cleaning them.. I have heard of guys putting wax on them and not wiping it off until summer but i have never tried it.. If it get to bad Pops i will warrenty them for you...

Tim, is there anything others tips I could use that will look good but not rust? What are my options? this is my daily driver so I cant park it like I would like to.

It might be expensive but they make chrome paint now. Take the tips to a paint shop and I bet they can paint them chrome. It'll protect it for sure.

use some very very fine steel wool to clean them up but be sure to put a wax on them afterwards. The steel wool is going to take off any protectant you have them. I've had good results with this.

a simple way to protect em to just for a little until you really figure something out. just like a clear coat of nail polish.

and tim the thing about the wax works until a billion pieces of rocksalt hit it and just rip off the coating.

I use nevRdul to give mine a quick wipe clean every couple weeks and then put some of my winter wax on it (http://www.colliniteautomotive.com/products.htm#super476s).

My license plate frame is FUBARed though.

They shouldn't be rustin at all if they're stainless steel right? Especially them bein Magnaflow n all too. Maybe their defective ones. Just keep up on cleanin them regularly.

for pitting/light rusting on chrome or stainless steel, use Colonel Brassy. I used to use it when I detailed up at z&m and the stuff is awesome....its abrasive but you just have to be light with it. after that the metal will look brand new, just put a nice coat of wax on it and your good to go.
