After 10 long months......my automatic swap / trans rebuild/ engine rebuild/ stand alone install is finished on my talon!

The car started today on the first crank and purred like a kitty.......well you be judge it might not sound very cat like haha

the engine is a 2.0 with eagle rods, JE pistons, clevite bearings. Top end wise it has 1mm oversized valves, crower springs and retainers, brian crower 280 cams, it has a dvdtfab intake manifold with NOS direct port setup. Fuel system is an aeromotive a1000 fuel pump, 8 gallon fuel cell, ford racing 1600cc fuel injectors. Turbo specs are a garrett gt3582 with a .82 ar t3 housing. Transmission is a mitsubishi factory automatic trans that i rebuild using an ipt trans rebuild kit which includes an extra steel and friction in each clutch pack and a trans lab shift kit along with a full line pressure/ manual valve body mod. Restalled torque converter from dirty dog performance and aluminum driveshaft from the driveshaft shop.


and Timmy.......that's the only oil cap i've ever owned for a talon that hasn't leaked!! I am reluctant to take it off haha.

just an update with some numbers took the car to the track last night for a test n tune and i couldn't be happier

1.57 60 foot on 420 treadwear tires lol
10.47@ 132 mph

this is on 28 psi of boost, a nitrous shot to get it out of the hole and stall up the converter. I really can't say enough good things about the Dirty Dog Performance torque converter that was made for me!!

I am hoping to get the boost turned up to like 38 - 40 psi and hit it with some spray going down the track and i am hoping to see 9.90's out of it on a nice set of slicks!

lol yea doesn't sound like a 2.0 liter motor huh?

But this winter i have plans on upgrading the injectors again to 2150's or 2200 cc's depending on availability and build the motor to run on alcohol like a 11.0:1 or 11.5:1 compression alcohol motor. I have to make a few calls and see what i can find. Now I dunno if I am thinking right but i should be able to make more power at a lower boost level with a higher static compression ratio?

I am getting excited about this car again after along time....before the auto swap it was just a hassle of swapping trans montly and now that i have one that can hold the power and shifts when i tell it to I am focus on making more power !!

That is correct if you can fend off detination. Some of the Cobra guys that switched to E85 are upping compression so they dont have to spin the blowers as hard. Most of them are new builds so thewy are not finished but in my opinion their thinking is sound. Less boost "should" equal less heat.

I would like to check your car out some time. Dont tell anyone on here but I had my share of imports too. LOL

with an additonal 10psi and some spray...it seems as though 9.90's should come pretty easy...so long as everything holds together.
