There is a road on the border of Tennessee and North Carolina that is 11 miles long with only turns, 300 roughly. There are no straights. I'm planning on driving to check itout this summer if anyone wants to go for a road trip.

Be careful, nearly everyone knows about the Tail of the Dragon now, and it's become a popular attraction for driving enthusiasts...bikes and cars.

From people I've talked to that go down there, the cops ticket like crazy...like for putting even one wheel over the double yellow in those insanely tight turns.

I still want to go down there some day though. lol.

Why not just go the track instead.....safer controlled environment with far less idiots to worry about.

Plus you can time yourself (or have a friend do it) to see that you're actually improving.

Good deal Scott....hope you can make it up there for some laps.

What were your lap times on the GSXR750?

How many sessions did you get to do?

I haven't been there but it definately looks nice in the pics...LOL

sorry john, i must of missed the thread in the new posts.. You didnt ride on the whole track. They had it set up differently than all the other races such as nascar/irl and the other track events.. I did a 4:14 on the short track(basically an autox track) and only rode on the full track once but never got a time for it.. I just talked to my buddy yesterday about doing it again and he said that watkins wont be doing anything for bikes this year ( which i dont know why) he said they might do it again next year..

but it looks like i will be trying to get in up beaver run a few times.
