I need some opinions, right now I'm torn between what mod I should do next.

option number one is hooking up my nitrous kit and new fuel lines

option number 2 is buying my roll bar and harnesses

both would cost around the same amount. also the nitrous tune would have to wait till after this summer is over.

so if it was your car what would you do first?

I'd do the nawwzzzz. I'm not a fan of roll cages in street cars. It might take some of the fun out of the car with the cage in it, depending on how many points you'd be putting in? IDK. A friend has one on his 350whp GTI that he tracks all the time and it makes me feel claustrophobic with all that metal and the race buckets.

I'd also go for power, just because I'm a power nut. Safety is important, but without a helmet you could make the argument that roll cages can cause more harm than good (head trauma if you hit a pipe)

well Doc. Im glad you said what you did because I was leaning towards the nawz, tho a 6 point will be soon

Why not increase the strength of the transmission or rearend?

You already said in another thread that you're worried about them at your current power level, yet you now want to add even more power.

because I figure when it breaks, then i'll deal with that, I considered doing a full t56 swap or something like that, but I just dont feel like having to buy all new drivetrain components, clutch, driveshaft etc. I know nitrous or a roll cage isnt necessarily the most sensible move, but I thats not why I doing it, I have a couple extra bucks to blow so I figured Id have some fun with it

Spray it with a 250 shot, blow it up and build a dart block setup and then go fast.

x2.. why add nitrous if your barely going to run it at the track? same as the cage? You said you built it to be a show and street car.. I say do what john said and build rear end/tranny... You could easily build a nice 8.8 to handle the power you have for about the same price as a NICE nitrous kit.

Just spray the $$$$ thing already. 100 shot and have fun lol.

Don't you have an 8.8 rearend in the car? If you do, you don't need anything more then clutches and gears, and it looks like you already have the gears. The 8.8 is a very strong rearend. You'll never break the 8.8 in your car unless you are planning on alot of track time with 6000rpm launches running real slicks, and it would still hold up for a long time. I ran a stock 8.8 with nothing but gears for 6 years and had over 900 passes on it and never broke anything. And that was with a car that gets air under the front tires. If you do anything throw a set of axles in it which are only about $180.

The rollbar is another thing you dont really need but I would definitely consider putting one in because it saves the chassis from twisting and ruining the car plus it stiffens it up which will handle better.

If it was my car, I would run it at the track without nitrous and then put the nitrous on and run it and go from there. That way you'll know what you need next.

Im not too worried about the rear end, most people Ive talked to basically said what you said balaska, the tranny is in good shape, n if it does decide to break, I'll probably just rebuild it, so that I dont have to do an entire swap.

the roll bar is just more so that I have something that I can tie my harnesses into
