That thing looks downright sinister, I love it. The hood is nice too, I don't think I've seen it before

Just out of curiosity Tim, what's the charge for the short block swap?

Rodeheavers

around 1500-2000$

around 1500-2000$

That's about the price I had guesstimated. I'm kicking around the idea of doing an MMR Street Mod 900 this winter, and running 15lbs on the Saleen VI. I had pushed that idea to the back burner until I saw Preppy's Roush......haha... that's a wicked machine.

hmm, so I could get an aluminator for around 5k installed. :thumb:

Why would you choose an Aluminator?

Why would you choose an Aluminator?

its basically a terminator short block but aluminum (most of the cheaper short blocks are iron, thats 100 lbs of motor!). People have run 900 hp on them with no issues, and its $3200 shipped with no core charge. There are probably better/cheaper motors out there, but I like having a real ford motor.

I see. I was just kind of wondering. The difference is actually 65lbs. I'm probably going to do an MMR short block if/when I do it. I considered going aluminium, as it's only $300 difference. Guess I'll figure all that out when the time comes.

What mmr block are you going with? It looks like the street mod 900 is their competition with the aluminator. It looks like they both use the terminator block, so its really what internals you prefer. The price is probably close to the same after shipping too.

I'm not going to replace my short block unless I blow the stocker. After this round of mods I'll be pretty borderline. I would do heads and cams too, so I really would probably go with the 3v supercharger ready longblock aluminator. Its proven and takes a lot of the guesswork out of the equation.

I've heard some sketchy things and some good things about MMR - check them out on modularfords.com and come to your own conclusions. Aluminators had problems too, check that out on SVTPerformance.com
