They have a book with values of all the cars in it. You just have to send pictures of your car into the state. Your car won't pass though as it looks now. If you have any originals with the car stock on the outside and no date on the picture you'd be good to go though.

I have two friends who went the classic plates route, and yes, the photos you send in have to be 100% stock appearance. I think you're pretty far from that now, lol.

you need "collector" or "sports" car insurance, i dont think you need to retitle it.

Pretty much every insurance company won't do it either unless the person its insured with is over 25. I've talked to my insurance agent a lot about it. So if the car is under your own insurance, good luck trying to find a company that will do it.

As was mentioned Hagerty is good. But I have Grundy insurance for my Camaro. They're both great to deal with, and they're the only companies I would ever recommend. As for the price, I pay around $100 a year for full coverage, and that's no $h1+.

25 and older typically
no appraisal under $30k for some companies
YOu car would apply through a specialty ins. program like Grundy
Classic plate not required for some companies

www.google.com

Search: classic car insurance

Dial: phone numbers

Talk to: insurance representatives and ask your questions

took mine to sams auto in carmichaels for the appraisal then contacted http://www.classiccarinsurance.com/ it cost less then $200 a year and is valued at the appraisal amount plus $500 is extra parts have to show a pic of all sides and prove that itis keep in a garage and a few other things like $75 for a one time classic plate but you still need inspections.

just call your local notary they can give you all the info, and paper work. its a one time plate fee of 75 you still need to have inspections done but no limit on driving unlike antique.
