I'm not really wild about how their v8s sound though... am I the only one?

Here is some crazy stuff about that car.

There were only 30 built (sold ONLY to people selected by Ferrari)
They cost 2.5 Million dollars.
Ferrari ONLY allows you to drive it on specially selected track days that they specifically approve.

The moral of the story is, they call you up, tell you "Hey we have selected you to be able to purchase one of only 30 FXX cars in the world, at a reasonable price of 2.5 million dollars, BUT you don't get to take it home, and your only allowed to drive it when we say so."

It is pretty much the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard when it comes to cars. I don't think you are even allowed to sell them.

Yep, all true. But I think I saw video of one on the road. And Ferrari has also selected the buyers of the F-40,F-50,and the Enzo to name a few. The criteria for being selected is, you must own a certain number of Ferraris , I forget that number, and you must display great driving ability. Ferrari keeps tabs on all their cars and the way people drive them by having all of their cars data log your everyday driving, recording all telemetry. They check this info when the cars go in for service. Pretty crazy

My favorite fact I recently heard about the FXX was they originally only built 29, but the pope requested one, so they built one more specifically for him.

I'm not sure about the FXX but I do know Ferrari built a 600th Enzo for the pope just because. As far as I know he didn't request it. I think I saw that on the show ultimate factories.
