I was looking at nitrous accesories, and had a few questions.

is it a big deal to have the nitrous bottle open and more or less ready to use while I'm driving around I can use it? or is a remote bottle opener my better bet.

also, what is a better bottle heating system, thermostat or controller?

Either bottle heater is good, i like the thermostat, because if the stat malfunctions it will kill the heater and not over heat it and blow the pop off valve. And it is not a good idea to just drive around with it on because nitrous will find tin tiny leaks and leak out...

lmao honestly dude that kid almost died that night. Me and khris had him convinced i had a 1400rwhp supra, a 1300rwhp TT mustang, an 11 second range rover, all kinds of s**t lol.

haha yeah khris said the kid was about to pull a knife on him or some $$$$... i can't believe that. some people are jut ridiculous if youare gonna talk smack either throw a punch or take the hit.. dont melee someone.. honestly.

and about the gears.. i dunno dude 4.10s might feel weird in the five speed.. and as fast as you actually like to go 3.73's might be better ha and besides if you do 4.10s and try and do 120 the whole way to carlisle that motor might be screaming bloody murder cause the high rpm's yannnoooo??

why are you doing a t-45? why wouldnt you do a 3650? your going to regret doing the t-45...

Mike. i def agree with tims first post as to me and andy know from experience what can happen when a bottle gets too warm.

thats ok, remember my car only will put down a measly 350 rwhp anyway!

Been running nitrous for years now without any problems so here's my 2 cents...

#1 - Use a WOT switch...much safer than a pushbutton.

#2 - Get a bottle heater...900-950 psi seems best.

#3 - Get a retard box of some sort...2 degrees for each 50 hp added.

#4 - Implement a safety solenoid upstream from your nitrous solenoid...insurance against nitrous leaking into the intake.

#5 - Spend the extra $$$$ and get a progressive controller...there so many advantages to this that it becomes a no-brainer.
<a> - RPM window switch keeps the nitrous from activating below your set rpm and shuts it off BEFORE you hit your rev limiter.
<b> - Starting out at 25-30% and ramping up over time keeps you from breaking driveline parts and/or roasting your tires.
<c> - Nitrous start delay allows you to hook up before nitrous is applied.
<d> - On an FI car, the controller can read your TPS and eliminate the need for a WOT switch.

This is the one I have and it works great: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NOS-15974NOS/

This all being said, there is always the risk of the fuel solenoid sticking or failing to open in a wet system. If the fuel solenoid does not open, you will probably damage your motor by going extremely lean. I always test it before racing. I set the window switch start RPM to 0, then with the bottle closed, I activate the WOT switch by hand with the motor at idle and the system armed. The motor should die almost immediately from the extra fuel. This is still not completely fool-proof though, because you never know when the fuel solenoid will fail or stick.

But when everything works...the torque increase is phenomenal and highly addicting!!
