Talon was off to Early performance today for a brand new built motor, new springs, bigger fuel pump, AEM wideband, Megasquirt stand alone computer with a 2 step and electronic boost controller, rust fix and engine bay repaint!!!!:clap2:

Got alot done today! Repaired strut tower rust(typical 2g). Painted the tranny gosh does she look good! Did a little extra.. Went and ported the manifold and powdercoated the intake and valve cover silver with black veins! Got the engine and tranny back in the car! Everythings new look at the pretty head and kevlar belt. Megasquirt is completely installed along with the wideband! LOVE my new 6 bolt swap!! Hopin to be done tommarrow!!! :biggrin1: :biggrin1: :biggrin1: :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

MEgasquirt is a full stand alone computer. If you know plenty about circuitry it is the shiznit because instead of paying 1600 to 1800 for an AEM You could build one of these yourself for way less then half!! You can set different tune maps. When you want your nitrous, antilag.. Basically ANYTHING!!! And no its not just for DSM's It can be for anything. You just have to know what you r doing...

Today we didn't finish but we got the engine bay painted, new eibach spring put on, megasquirt is fully functional( thanks to kevin), underdrive pulley put on, and we started to wire tuck some of the wiring!!!:biggrin: Tomarrow we will finish the motor, install the fuel pump, remount the intercooler and piping, hook up the HID's, And fire the motor for the first time...Hopefully!!:clap2: And then let the tuning begin

hell yea, she had about 10 miles put on her, still working out some accel and decel enrichment tune issues with the stand alone but it runs like a champ, i bet if someone who didn't know the car woudl drive it, they'd not know the different!

Sorry for the slow post! I've been busy driving and tuning it!!!:clap2: Ive got 200 miles on her now..no boosting or over 3grand.... It sucks but a couple more miles and the BOOSTING begins!!!:biggrin1: PS. They actually set a rev limiter at 3550 and a boost cut out at 5psi... LMAO they know me to well!!

She is pretty much broken in!! Having an intercooler issue but should have that fixed this week! She took her first victim last night.. I think it was like an 04 mustang gt that definitely had hedders and exhaust.. He launched on me and with the lag he pulled.. LOL but 2 seconds later the turbo kicked in and it was like he was standing still very good!! Then at that I realized a boost leak here the bisque screw was missing out of the throttle body!! Thats a huge boost leak to be stomping people with LOL :clap2:

Well I figured i might bump this thread because the car had a major engine problem last year so the talon has been sitting for quite a while...On that note There has been some MAJOR changes to the car and pretty much a full restoration from tranny suspension engine body and paint! I will be posting pics soon!!! :evil:
