99 Ranger 4x4 regular cab, normal bed size. In really good condition, interior is perfect.

95 Chevy 1500 4x4 Z71 extended cab (with doors), normal bed size. Body is in really good shape, seats are ripped up some.

Both run well, 4x4 works fine, mileage is similar.

Duties are driving back and forth to work in moderate snow (Lori would drive it to work in severe weather - I carpool and don't drive when the weather is too bad). I would also like to use it to haul boards, furniture, etc.. so that I can stop borrowing my dads truck every time I go to home depot.

Ranger is a much nicer looking truck (body colored grill and it must be some sort of sport model) and gets a little bit better gas mileage. Chevy seems like it would be more useful. Chevy is a couple hundred bucks more expensive, so thats a wash.

chevy.. You can haul alot more, you would be surprised on how bad the ranger is on gas, more interior room.. And you could haul your car if you needed to..

chevy...

i DD a 97 siverado extcab,4wd... runs, rides great. been out playin in this snow with it and it does good. bed is bigger then a ranger bed. more torque, towing power.

i had a 98 ranger and i needed a trailer to haul most things, specially if it was longer then 6ft.

if you need to haul stuff or might plow go for the chevy.. but if not i say the ranger... i know people who have them and they say nothing but good things.. motors arent real strong but they will last and the tranny (if a 5 speed) will last too. and digging a ranger out of a foot of snow may be easier than digging a fullsize out. IMO.
