Anyone in Jeeps?

Such as lifting them and off roading them while daily driving them? A friend of mine has a bunch of them and is in the need of cash and gna sell me a 98 Cherokee Sport lifted for 650 bucks. All it needs is a head gasket.. My mom had two of these and i took them both off roading but not too much.. Just seeing where i can go for some quick info to see what i would be getting myself into and whether it would be worth it or not.

i dunno but i would have to imagine something with the exhuast would have to be done if you are gonna take it off road i mean either as tight to the jeep as you can or i have seen one with a snorkel right infront of the front passenger door.

i know this is a wrangler and not a cherokee but i have seen the same things at local shows and i can imagine this could be some work to do but i mean it could save you a lot more of work and moolah later on when you get hooked on something and the underneath exhaust just rips apart.

I dont think i will be going that much into it, but you never know.. He has about 3 or 4 jeeps and i have gone with him before and we dont see anything like that.. The jepp will sorta be a driver and off roader

doesnt seem like it to be a big job.. It has to be easier that doing heads gaskets on a 302 in a 95gt and i already got that under my belt so i think this will be alot easier..

haha. if the weather gets bad enough she will drive my truck or the TB SS and i will be in whatever she doesnt drive, but her cobalt didnt do too bad this winter. I only had to take her to work during the big snows and picked up on the quad during state of emergency.. She was PI$$ed

I had a 94 grand cherokee limited, tv, leather, ps2, lights all over the place, 3 inch lift and 35's. it was AWD and it was a blast....looking into another jeep for sure once my murk is gone.

somehow I was thinking you said grand cherokee. I've had a few xj's & been around z & wj's plenty as well. took a few years off racing in the early 2000's & me & Glen (mustang5.0lx) built some jeeps & did some 'wheeling.

few friends that do that muddin thing with jeeps says its now illegal to have the snorkel up like that. said you can get pulled over and ticketed for it. sposa be a obstruction of view.

it was great because I walked into a crowded subway one day, and the cop that had originally said something was there, he got all big and made his voice deep and was like :"What did I tell you about those lights?" in front of everyone. I went outside, pulled the covers off and waved lol. Came back inside and all he said was "Oh, good job". owned.

Obstruction of view what a crock of $$$$. Just like window tint is no longer a reason to fail a vehicle during inspection but a cop can fine you for it if he chooses to. Curious what they did/do about those jeep liberty renegades that came with roof lights from the factory that had no covers?

this way,the garage gets there cash for inspection and the state can get there money by fining you for it. see they think of these things before making them a law.

I had a friend get pulled over with those, and the cop made him put the covers on before he could leave. He hasn't taken the covers off since.

not totally sure,but since it would be threw the state im guessing atleast 100bux or more. hell even a jaywalking ticket isnt less then $100 anymore.lol

just got off the phone with my buddy and he said he went and got it fixed and he wants alot mroe than 650 bucks for it now. So the dream is gone before it even started hahaha

I'm pretty sure the fine is $25. Guy at work got pulled over and ticketed for his not being covered.

Also, another guy at work has one of those liberty's with the lights.....his has covers on them, as I would expect all had from the factory/dealership.

This is the first I've heard about a snorkel being illegal....freaking gov't needs to concern themselves with larger problems than off-road lights, snorkels, and tinted windows.

haha,yes... but that also brings up another point. those blue bulbs are illegal if installed as aftermarket but they are perfectly legit in the new lexus or whatever else they come in stock from factory. now tell me how that isnt right.....
