how long can you run for (distance)? sorry for the dumb questions, I've never been to one before

They are going to be at the waynesburg airport, thats directly when you get off the exit at rt79/rt21 The gates open at noon, racing starts at 2pm, and its an 8th mile race. Traction is your biggest enemy at these events, so tires is what wins the races!

If the weather is nice i will definitely be down, if my shifting issues are fixed (ordering a new master/slave/stainless clutch line), I will be racing too.

90% of the AWD kids will kill. People actually making power will just spin like a MO FO. And whats funny is that these kids with there 300hp AWD think its a rocket ship. No its not a rocket ship you can just get traction and we can't.

New slave cyl is here, SS clutch line is here, just need the Master cyl will be here tomorrow. Looks like saturday is going to be a busy day for me. :)

im 99% sure ill be there not bring the car had to order a new detent cable from gm the ones from the part tores were junk, they wouldnt hold in a postion with even your hand pressure so ordered it from bortz. ill be driving my 147hp stratus,lol.

wow guys, I had a BLAST today!!! It was great to see you all. Good driving Mush!! For those who werent there, Mush won the Top street car challenge. I made it to the big dog race and got taken out in the second round by a olds 442 with i think alot more motor than i had and way more hook!!!

That Olds was sick. I had to leave early, but I think I might have had a chance at top tuner. I made 3 passes and did pretty well. 2 wins 1 loss

I beat a MazdaSpeed 3 pretty bad, Lost to an 06 Evo because I missed 2nd gear (shifting > Me) and I (barely) beat a certain white supercharged 09 Mustang GT :) for my second win of the day, then I left because the daughter was giving grandma a hard time and had to go get her. Had an absolute blast though. Traction was tough to find for everyone (even my awd was spinning out of the hole).

I wanted to race Brent (AdamantiumSilver) But I had to leave. I saw a LOT of UGH Guys there. Mach1Mush, Tom,Iroc-z28 (eventhough he wasnt running :P ) Tim, Driller, SS Swaney and AdamantiumSilver, are the ones that come right to mind.

Hey guys! I had a good time watching everyone. I did actually get to talk to a few of you towards the end, I think I'm going to have to start wearing one of my shirts with my car on it so you guys would know me. Jeff and Mush, I was hoping to get to meet you guys but I guess you left early Jeff, and Mush, you didn't let that car sit still long enough! lol!!! Great job on the win, that's awsome! Something I learned today.

Don't show up in a heads/cam/stalled auto car on street tires.

Fail.

I won one race, against a old $$$ porsche 944. I would have thrown down in street contender if I had decent tires with me today.

Still a fun $$$ day! Hopefully they get the staging lane situation sorted out better for next time and hopefully more people pay attention at the drivers meeting when they say there are 4 lanes and that if you don't have a race go to the far right lane, It was a cluster $$$$ until I told Michael what was going on down there and he went down and started directing traffic.

I had a great time. I won 1 (vs. My fiance's v6 mustang) and lost 2 (vs. a really nice fox- who pulled on me through the whole track, and jeff - who I was chasing down like a mofo lol).

This is why I didnt bother going. Hell I blew my street tires off at PRP after warming them up. That and I cant see driving almost 2 hours on ET streets either. Thats way more wear than I want to put on them.

My new sticky steet tires (Toyo R888) are on the way so they should hook up better than these BFG KDs but we will need to wait and see.

It's an airport......why would anyone expect dragstrip like traction?

Everyone is on the same playing field and has the same amount of available traction.

If you want to attend and compete, run the stickiest tire you can and set up the susp accordingly.

There's a reason Timmy's car is tubbed.. :)

I believe it has seen some street time in the past and he knows the power is worthless if you can't put it down....

I'll tell you what, I think I had more fun racing yesterday than I ever have at PRP. PRP is just ... Sit and wait, Sit and wait. blah blah blah. The only thing that's good about it is the time slip, Not that it isn't fun going to PRP, but I think that the whole atmosphere at the FLD's is different. That and its all street (ish) cars... The rail dragsters and the like don't really do it for me.

There was a time I didn't have to worry about traction, but with the heads and cams the street tires never stood a chance. I'm going to have to try a set of drag radials next time.

Still the most fun $25 will ever get you... well, legally anyways. :biggrin1:

I think the radioflyer intimidated him too much. I think that wagon got more attention than some of the cars. I had about 8 different people ask me all about it and checking it out.
