Just a quick list of the mod's that came with the car and mods that I have done. Nothing crazy, don't wanna blow anything up. I try to do the smaller mods myself. I enjoy tinkering around, but I leave the bigger jobs to the professionals. Love learning about these cars tho.
Quick background:
As Steve Saleen was giving up ownership of Saleen Inc, he had an idea for a more basic Saleen car with less show but still some go. "Racecraft" is Saleen's line of suspension parts which have been around for some time. The Racecraft 420S is an S197 that saleen supercharged, did the suspension on, and just put a few cosmetic goodies. Besides the chin spoiler, no body kits or other stuff that I'm not interested. The car is rated a 420/400 at the crank. Unfortunately, Saleen had some issues which caused the Racecrafts to be very limited. Only 28 of these were made 2008 and only a few more in 2009. Of those 28, there are 6 blues and of those 6 mine is one of a triplet(three identical). So even those Saleen didn't put a "serial" number on the bumber, its pretty unique/rare and they will verify all of that info. Always loved the mustangs in high school and this car is a reward to myself for doing too much school all over the place.

On the stock Saleen tune, intake and exhaust, the car made 377/378 WHP/WTQ @ 5lbs on a routinely and properly calibrated dynojet. On Rodeheavers dyno on Saturday, the car made 365/366 uncorrected and 344ish correct(not sure why the correct drop THAT low). That puts me in the 385-395ish range on a dynojet so that seems pretty consistent. The X-pipe should have picked up a few ponies and the JDM tune (being at the same boost) was mainly to fill in the gaps Saleen left. The car feels much stronger with the tune.
I was not the biggest fan of the current A/F. It was a tad higher than I'd like to see. JDM told me it was fine as did Tim, but I will be retuning with Don Lasota when I get my mod priorities in order. I have a 3.6" pulley on my desk (I'm running a 3.8" right now) so thats good for another 2lbs. I plan to do gears and possibly a one piece driveshaft. My wideband comes in this week so hopefully I'll get it on and see where the pulley puts me.
Thats it! Love the car and it always gets compliments where ever I go. Don't care if its slow. Like I tell people:
"Its called RACECRAFT, not RACECAR!"
That normally gets a smile
