oil types?

soo for my car i am told to use 10w-40 and i was told it should be a synthetic... but the people who told me were at advanced auto and i feel like that is kinda high of a weight and i dunno i am not a fan of synthetic what do you guys think would be best?

I use synthethic in everything I own...10w30 in the summer and 5w30 in the winter in my Strat..The truck does come out in the winter so it stays 10w30 all the time..I use mobile1 with ZMax ...never had any issues but I only got 16000 on the truck and 12000 on my Strat..I use the same all the time no brand switches ...I am superstitious..lol

what ever is in there is wat u should stick with, you cant swap bak n forth between synthethic n regular

the biggest thing is to stay with the dame brand... I am going to switch my stang to brad penn oil.

I ran Royal Purple in the 04 stang. Know a guy who swears by mobile one.

so out of curiosity because mike i get what you are saying about stick with it i will stay with synthetic but i know the kid before me really didnt pay attention to the brand so i am gonna get a brand and stick with it but im NOT gonna do royal purple because its expensive but what are some of the better synthetics?
