I've read good stuff about the boostbrothers kits. They are like 1200 bucks too.

Ive done a ton of reading about on3, and talked with either the owner or sales rep on the corral, and have seen nothing but good things.....I think when the kits first came out they werent that great, but they've upgraded a few things and the kits seem to be good for the price

I am inclined to agree here. Most turbochargers that size are more than the entire kit there. Those look like no name knockoff turbos and I personally wouldnt buy one, BUT, this is information based on the realm of DSM's where a cheap knock off turbo lasts 130 miles and then falls to pieces.

I know they are a lot more expensive, but if I was turbocharging any mustang, the kit would come from www.hellionpowersystems.com . Best on the market for a stang IMHO.

hellion makes me want a gt500!

No doubt, their stuff performs that's for sure. They also have the most comprehensive parts list of any turbo kit manufacturer i have ever seen. Down to the last washer!

it says you can upgrade to a turbonetics turbo for 700, which will bring the cost of the kit to 2500$ but you still need fuel system and tune..plus it looks to have a junk blow off and waste gate, so they will need upgraded to.. So in the end it will still cost you 5500$

Yea it seems that piecing a kit together is the better way to go.

If you dont upgrade the crappy parts it will probably cost more than that after you get done replacing them all later.

Buy quality once.

I assume you're planning to put the turbo on your stock block correct? Before I'd go turbo, I'd have a block in the car that will allow you to actually take advantage of the power a turbo setup is capable of.

+1 on you get what you pay for. I have read about these cheap turbo kits (both on3 and boost brothers), and while they are decent, the fitment is not good, they end up taking quite a bit of work to get on the car correctly. Also, like Tim said, there will be a lot more cost in addition to the turbo kit to get the car finished, and this amount is far more than what the turbo kit costs. I wouldn't want to spend $3000to get a $2500 (with the turbonetics upgrade) cheap turbo kit on my car. I'd personally go with a V1, nice and simple to install with good results for the money and a power level that your block can live with.

ive read alot of builds on corral and svtp where people have great results, reliability and zero fitment issues with the on3 kit.

We have installed both a boost brothers kit and and on3 kit. I would take the boost brothers kit over the on3 kit. The boost brothers kit is made out of better materials. The down side is it comes with a turbo that I'm almost certain is made out of recycled wok's haha! But for the price its a nice kit. It does require some minor notching. Both the on3 kit and the boost brothers kits come with chinese wastegates and bov's. They usually work fine. But you may have to take them apart as we have seen the diaphragms not seated correctly. Also check to make sure the valve in the wastegates moves smoothly if not you may have some sticking/spiking issues. Once again they are both probably made of cheaper stainless but the boost brothers kit looks higher quality. The on3 kit we had in the shop did have some fitment issues but I guess they have been fixed. Hope this helps guys.

yep, the BB stuff is ok, but like Shaun said, you are gonna need to pay attention and prolly upgrade a bunch of stuff.

I actually thought here as of lately about possibly doin a turbo route on the Stang in the near future, so this is great info to be checkin out.

x2 on that, those guys are the best. They turboed my 07 gt and not only did i keep everything including my sway bar but fitment was second to none. I actually decided to have terry build me one after seeing how the helion kit was routed. Also i don't know what's in the water over at Streetlethal but they always seem to find extra horsepower without sacrificing reliability.

Ill have terry put some pics of my kit up on here....again, its hard finding a kit that fits well, and keeps everything

I think it boils down to how serious you are and how much money can you REALLY spend on a something like this. After the ON3 turbo kit I installed I felt like it wasnt as bad as people said so long as the few things we fixed along the way, were fixed... But a custom kit like StreetLethal builds is by FAR the best way to go...If you can afford it... But the thing that people never see and I know Terry can vouch for this is, a turbo or blower is dollar for dollar the most HP a person can buy. I see why people want to use a less expensive kit, because 5-10k for a top of the line kit is out of some folks budget, but they still want a turbo kit and I cant blame them after seeing what a HUGE power gain they are and how extremely fun they are to have, not to mention a turbo V8 is like better than drugs and lasts longer to!! The ON3 kit we installed could not make that customer any happier, he has a dependable fast silly tire frying street car that gets great gas mileage and makes that cool BOV noise!!! SO if this is something you think you want, take time to consider your options, and make the best choice for you... I will say this, I seriously doubt the masterpower turbo that the ON3 kit uses will last a real long time, it seems to be a hit or miss kind of thing with that company, so upgrading to a more quality turbo is a smart choice, IMO...
