You guys are nuts with a soldering iron with those things man.

they are pretty nutty, donnys is pretty loaded up i added everything from launch control , electronic boost control, nitrous control and even the ability to switch between 2 different fuel, spark and boost maps for like a pump gas race gas tune, its sweet i can't wait to get it installed in his car

I just want a 2 step to make launching easier, no need for all that whoopdee doo on a 14b car like mine LOL.

launch control is easy to do on the megasquirt, you can even do a fuel and spark cut compared to the dsmlink fuel cut only so you can leave with full boost from the line, even my 35r would hit 25 psi on the studder box i had setup

I could do some nice stuff with that 14b ough i ran 12.75 in a fwd laser with just a 2.5 inch exahust, upper i/c pipe, s-afc and 550s so the 14b is no slouch

Its definitely something to consider. I have really been looking at the new ECMlink V3lite that just came out, i think it would be perfect for a 14b car such as mine. Being that I will probably never rev over 8k, or see more than 26psi of boost. But of course, I wasn't lucky enough to get an eprom ecu with my car, so they would have to do the conversion for that. Total price would be somewhere near 440, plus id be able to ditch the SAFC and make back a little there. Everywhere I look online I see that MS is about the same price, and I don't know how good/user friendly the software is.

its pretty user friendly, and for the 440 you could do a megasquirt with any size map sensor up to a 4 bar/ launch control , get a wideband and make it plug in pay to the factory ecu for about 440 or maybe just a bit more, the megasquirt is only 189 and you need to get a gm air temp sensor into the intake piping which that's easy the sensor is like 20 bukcs, then you have a speed density system which works awesome b/c it can compensate for different temps unlike the gm maf setup which always thinks its at 88 degrees

What kind of retarded wiring is involved with this whole setup?

i feel ya buddy cwh19 doesnt have heat in his garage really and its pretty awful... although he did get a kerosene heater.. its ftw but nothing can really battle 7 degree weather in an all concrete building with about no insulation

wiring wise is very similar to a s-afc

1 power wire, 4 ground wires, 1 for the air temp sensor, 1 for the coolant temp sensor, 1 for the tps sensor, 4 injector wires and 2 spark wires and 1 wire for launch control

it can get more complex depending on what you want, its a full stand alone similar to an aem in many ways

Ya...Mario is a friend of a friend.

I love his old car.....drove up to PRP.......ran 10.80's on regular old street tires........drove home.

Car was clean, simple, and done right.

I believe he has since sold it and bought a clean 70 chevelle with a big block.
